Thomas Lanier [Tennesee] Williams was a U.S. dramatist. He wrote fiction and screen plays. His best-known works include the partly autobiographical The Glass Menagerie(1945), A Streetcar Named Desire (1947), and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1955).
